Dwight E. Heron

MD, MBA, FACRO, FACR

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Dwight E. Heron is founder of AMIA. He is a board-certified Radiation Oncologist with over 15 years of experience managing large integrated clinical care programs worldwide, quality and safety programs, performance improvement and practice integration and growth. He is a recognized clinical and research leader in innovative cancer care programs including development of clinical pathways processes and patient outcomes.

 

He has held a number of executive level positions in academic and commercial entities focusing on quality and safety as well as physician and staff professional development.  He is driven by a philosophy of bringing state of the art care to patients worldwide through creative strategies.

Aigerim Aliakparova

BS, MSc

Director, Project Development

Ms. Aigerim Aliakparova is the Director of Project Development at AMIA. Ms. Aliakparova is successful in building synergistic relationships within culturally diverse fast paced environments. Her expertise lies with identifying opportunities that provide value and her portfolio ranged from working with government and embassies, universities, research institutions, and industry leaders worldwide. Her primary focus is in the field of public health, health administration, medical education and operational medicine. 

 

Aigerim has strong leadership and team building skills. She has directed multi-disciplinary teams within international academic organizations. Aigerim’s strengths are strategic marketing and public relations, project execution, and results based management.

 

Previously, Aigerim was the Head of the project team in the Department of Integrated Academic, National Research Oncology Center (NROC), at Nazarbayev University in Astana, Kazakhstan.

 

Ms. Aliakparova holds a Bachelor of Medical Science-Biomedical Materials Science, and a Masters in Economics and Business. Currently, she is doing her PhD in Public Health at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Almaty, Kazakhstan. Aigerim is fluent in Kazakh, Russian and English.

Todd M. Blodgett

MD

Director, Professional Eduction

Dr. Todd Blodgett has spent most of his career in the medical field, as a radiologist, administrator and entrepreneur.  He received his B.S. and MD degrees from the University of Pittsburgh and completed his radiology residency and two clinical fellowships at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).

 

Dr. Blodgett spent approximately 10 years as the chief of cancer imaging at UPMC.  During this time, he became an international expert in PET/CT and oncologic imaging.  He has authored or co-authored 5 textbooks on PET/CT, oncologic imaging and nuclear medicine. He has also published over 30 peer reviewed publications and given over 275 invited lectures.

Following his tenure at UPMC, Dr. Blodgett became Director of Oncologic Imaging for Foundation Radiology Group, a large private practice radiology group with 90+ radiologists, that interprets images for 35 hospitals in 11 states.  He subsequently was named Chief Medical Officer and Director of Workflow.

Over the past 15 years, he has also been President and CEO of Blodgett Consulting, LLC, a company that offers interpretation services, online and in-person training services and software development.

Dr. Blodgett brings medical, administrative and efficiency skills to AMIA.

Richard P. Bondi

Chief Financial Strategist

Mr. Richard P. Bondi is the chief financial strategist of AMIA. Mr. Bondi is successful in building global cross-functional relationships driving productivity, profitability and sustainability within culturally diverse fast-paced environments. Rich has strong leadership and team building skills. He is highly analytical and decisive senior executive with 20+ years of progressive leadership experience directing financial operations within international clinical and academic healthcare organizations.

 

Mr. Bondi currently serves as the COO/CFO of Southwest Cardiovascular Associates in Arizona. Rich’s expertise is in contract negotiations and analysis, revenue generation and cost reduction within the healthcare environment, both nationally and globally. He has directed financial operations spanning divisions, service lines and departments with full P&L accountability. Rich champions financial analysis for new business opportunities, programs, consolidations, physician productivity, equipment purchases, payor contracting, drug purchases, staffing models and A/R metrics. Rich’s strengths are developing cost analysis and M&A financial models. 

 

Mr. Bondi has a BA in Accounting from California University of Pennsylvania. He has several professional affiliations and activities.

Athan H. Georgiades 

MD, FACS, FICS

Chief Transformation Officer 

Dr. Athan Georgiades is the chief transformation officer of AMIA. He is a board certified general and oncologic surgeon, who began his surgical career in 1986 at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

 

Dr. Georgiades has held innumerable leadership and teaching positions throughout the last 34 years, including his current positions as Chairman of Surgery for a major American Hospital and Chairman of a large multidisciplinary group of Independent Medical Doctors in Western Pennsylvania. 

 

He remains in active private practice, both in the US and overseas with an active EU license, and is a respected clinical health care consultant with a number of International clients in Canada, Europe and the Middle East, including a large American based missionary group in the South Pacific.

He is actively engaged in a number of international outreach programs, which offer state of the art health care and consultative services that include telehealth, AI diagnostics, education and management services.

He is fluent in English and Greek.

Bryan Hanna

Director, Marketing

Mr. Bryan Hanna has over a decade of sales, marketing and project management experience in the fields of design, architecture and engineering. His journey has taken him around the globe from corporate headquarters to manufacturing facilities to customer sites. His on the ground experience ranges from conceptualization through implementation and has centered around multi-cultural and multi-lingual teams where English is often a second language. The majority of his work has been in a highly regulated industry with strict standards and quality reporting requirements. Bryan’s goal is to always deliver projects and new product launches safely, on time and on budget.

 

Mr. Hanna has a B.A in Political Science and a minor in Sociology from Grove City College. He earned the LEED Accredited Professional designation from the US Green Building Council in 2009 and the Project Management professional certification from the Project Management Institute in 2019. Bryan is currently in the process of obtaining the Six Sigma Yellow Belt from the American Society of Quality.

Loretta L. Hanwell

RT, BA, MPM, FAHRA

Chief Innovation Officer

Ms. Loretta L. Hanwell is the chief innovation officer of AMIA. Ms. Hanwell’s expertise includes strategic planning, project development and program management, and organizational design that foster long-term business sustainability. Ms. Hanwell builds productive relationships and partnerships with healthcare providers globally.

 

Ms. Hanwell provided executive-level leadership for establishing new ventures by engaging a cross-functional team in clinical program development and implementation.  Loretta worked closely with partners around the world, formulating strategic and operational plans, performing clinical assessments, developing quality programs, and organizing physician referral and outreach initiatives. She also worked closely with local, national, and international governments on activities to support the public needs and healthcare advancements.

Ms. Hanwell has a portfolio of international projects spanning multiple clinical specialties with a geographic focus in Colombia, Ireland, United Kingdom, Italy, Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, Russia and Kazakhstan. Loretta’s strengths include international business development, physician and client partnerships and government relations. 

 

Ms. Hanwell holds a master’s degree in Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University, USA.

Annette Quinn

RN, MSN, OCN

Director, Nursing & Clinical Excellence

Ms. Annette Quinn is the Director of Nursing & Clinical Excellence at AMIA. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Pennsylvania State University and her Masters Degree in Nursing Education from Duquesne University.

 

An expert in the field of Radiation Oncology, Ms. Quinn has extensive experience in operational and program development.  She has spearheaded multi-disciplinary teams to ensure clinical excellence in a variety of care models. Annette has been instrumental in the advancement and implementation of Stereotactic Radiosurgery programs globally as well as in the United States. A leadership interface between multiple care providers, she has excelled in creating an infrastructure for multidisciplinary clinics most recently at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center that have led to increased patient access to high quality care. Her passion for quality improvement and her creative nursing skills have fostered an improved work culture environment and increased patient satisfaction scores.

Annette is the author on numerous peer-reviewed publications in the field of cancer and supportive care. She is an active member of several professional organizations including Oncology Nursing Society and The Radiosurgery Society.

Nick Vizzoca

MBA

Strategic Advisor

Nick Vizzoca is a Pittsburgh native, first-generation son of Italian immigrants, and a survivor of childhood cancer.  A twenty-year-plus veteran in healthcare in C-level positions, Nick is a published author and sought-after speaker, serves on boards, and is a philanthropist for multiple causes.  Never one to sugarcoat things, he is often consulted by leaders on everything from organizational strategic planning and improved employee engagement to crisis management in his never-ending personal mission to better the lives of others.

 

Mr. Vizzoca has a Master of Business Administration from Point Park University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Pittsburgh.
